Team Spotlight – Kym Stephenson
Welcome to our team spotlight series, where we’ll sit down with the people who make City Trees great to learn about their background, why they love the cannabis industry, and some fun facts. Let’s get started!
I am the fulfillment manager for City Trees. I manage a group of distributors and packaging techs that take products produced by the lab and make them shelf-ready for the customers. I am also responsible for ensuring that our customers receive their orders in a timely, accurate manner. I wear a lot of hats at City Trees, and I am very passionate about the brand and the people I work with.
How long have you worked at City Trees, and what is your role?
I have been the Fulfillment Manager for City Trees for about a year and a half.
Describe your perfect day at City Trees. How does it start and end?
A perfect day at City Trees is like this: You walk into the building greeted by our wonderful security staff, and as you walk back to the production area, you see your smiling associates waiting for the day ahead. The minute we hit those doors, we are fired up about packaging our bomb product. We hammer out orders so efficiently that customers can’t get enough of us, and we leave the facility at the end of the day feeling super accomplished. Rinse and repeat.
What is your favorite thing about working in the cannabis industry?
I will be honest with you. It is the fact that I can partake in cannabis at home when I get off and not worry about being fired because it is my medicine, and you do not want to see me not being able to take my medicine. Cannabis balances my life. I have met some of the hardest working individuals in cannabis as well as the most passionate. It’s not even a job as much as it is a hobby sometimes.
What is your favorite City Trees product?
That is a toss-up. I love all our Agave Tinctures and Relief Lychee vape products.
Give us a fun fact or something that most people don’t know about you.
Oh no! I am mostly an open book. Something fun: I was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia, on a horse ranch that provided hay and livestock to some of the most famous Australians like Steve Irwin. People don’t know that unless I tell them because I do not have an accent. I had a speech impediment growing up, so I took therapy for that, but you will catch some words that I still struggle with, like “garage.”
